This one-day ride took the explorers 7 days from Dec 6 to Dec 12.
Part of their journey included 3 days attempting to cross Mt Disappointment. Their attempts to cross the mountain were checked by the steep and rough ground, the dense vegetation, and in particular by the sharp edges of the ‘cutting grass’.
On Dec 11 the path was blocked by thick smoke of the grass fires. They saw and named King Parrot Creek and Mt Piper west of Sunday Creek. They camped on the bank of the creek near the location of Broadford on Dec 12.
Traditional owners of the lands you will traverse are the Taungurung peoples.
